Life
What a beautiful blessing. Don’t get me wrong we all have our ups and downs and ins and outs while traveling on this journey, but we also have the blessings of family, friends, and there are those rare people that simply cross our paths for a brief flickering moment that leave footprints on our heart and change us forever.
We also have the privilege to not only breathe God’s air but reflect on His artistic creativity that He chose to place us in. I find myself observing the most intricate details of a flower petal or the beauty found in the many patterns on the wings of a butterfly. Creation will speak volumes about the creator if you will allow yourself to be still long enough to take it in.
God expresses His compassion about everything He does, from the eagle in flight with a massive wing span allowing it the ability to soar with such majestic grace to the tiniest of ants that we could and should take note of admiring their strength, perseverance, preparation and success found in working together towards a common goal.
If God took so much time in the details of the wings of a butterfly, how much more do you think he took his time with each of His children. David expressed his understanding of God’s love for us in Psalms 139:13-14:
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well.
David understood that if it were not for the very grace of God, He would never exist. Nor would any of us. The fact that I woke up this morning means that God has a plan and purpose for my life and not one single moment of how I spend it should be taken for granted. Life is a gift. My life was bought and paid for by the only begotten of the Father, and more than that He believed I was worth it.
On this journey of mine, I have laughed, cried, ran from God, questioned God, and witnessed some of the most miraculous things I could not put into words even if I tried. I have had the privilege of knowing some amazing people in my lifetime, and to think my journey is not over yet. I have had my heart so broken that I barely had the strength to breathe and yet I still stand, but do not be fooled, for I only stand by the very Grace of God.
I have a dear friend right now struggling in the in between. Her heart breaks and longs for her sweet girl. I understand how she feels all too well, and that alone gives purpose to my own heartache. For I can walk along beside my friend and offer a word of comfort because I have been where she is and she sees that I still stand and that alone gives her strength to look to the Father and know that there is a reason for all things.
Honestly, life is hard. We are frail and delicate creatures full of life and yet capable of the most tragic horrible things all because of choice. May we choose to leave a legacy for Christ and Christ alone. His life was far from easy. He walked a narrow path of purpose rejected by many and all for love.
May we seek to understand that kind of unconditional love and share it with those whose paths we cross. May we choose the path of purpose and learn all we can about our wonderful creator. I hope that this post leaves you encouraged. Even though life throws a curve ball now and then, remember nothing is a coincidence and if you’ll stop from time to time and refocus on the things that really matter you’ll see some of those miracles and realize He has a master plan of purpose just for you.
Very much enjoyed this
