HOPE

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD.  “Plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Jeremiah 29:11

Life is full of uncertainty.  Not one of us guaranteed another breath of life.  Some sadly live with no hope at all, never choosing to accept the love of a God that would give anything for a relationship with them, even the cost of his only sons’ life.  We struggle to understand the concept of such sacrificial all-consuming love.  Recent life events make me even more grateful for the love of a heavenly Father, one who not only knows what is coming tomorrow, but holds it in the very palm of his almighty hand.

The storm around me rages, ever rising with more challenges than one would like to face, but I do not face the storm alone.  The LORD has made a declaration of promise to me in Jeremiah 29:11.  He wants good things for me.  He beckons me to join him closer in the inner circle of the refuge beneath his mighty wings of comfort.  He provides a calming peace that only my heavenly Father can give me.  “My grace is sufficient”, He reminds me.  “My strength will be enough, rest in my arms and fear not”.

We have been here before and we have come through the fire.  “Trust me!”, He whispers.  “Breathe, my daughter, only one day at a time”. “I will walk with you and carry you when you cannot stand”.

Each morning when I rise, give me Jesus.  He is my redeemer and life sustainer.  I pray for those with no hope in sight.  I cannot fathom a life without hope.  For my hope is found in the one who holds my tomorrow.  I pray you will seek Him, for when you do, you shall find Him.  He waits for you, whispering your name into the deep crevices of your hearts cry for the Father you long to know.
