LIBERTY

“For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another”. Galatians 5:13

We as American’s have forgotten the “TRUTHS” on which our forefather’s foundation was laid. We as Christians must rise up and not fall into a slumber distressed from the immorality of this world. Instead, it should fuel our faith to continue the race with the knowledge that we will not only persevere, but we are already victorious. For Jesus has already won the victory. We are overcomers because HE has overcome in our stead.

We are called to be the image bearers of Christ. We must remind ourselves in order to remind the church of tomorrow. Many of our youth are so misguided about our nation’s history because the world continues to attempt to rewrite every aspect of our nation and how we came to be one of the greatest countries in the world. I am extremely proud to not only be an American citizen, but grateful for the liberty to worship freely. We must by example voice our appreciation of these freedoms and the truths they are based on.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

Just as our forefather’s made a declaration for the rights of every citizen of the United States. As citizens of this world and the next we owe it to whoever we meet to make our own declaration in the name of our heavenly Father.

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed”. John 8:36

Paul testified of this freedom as well as the daily struggles and obstacles that we each will face. Paul was no stranger to trouble, and we can continue to expect it ourselves as long as we are busy declaring our LORD. Paul did not leave us without encouragement. He commanded us to remain steadfast in the faith and continue to fight the good fight.

The Christian pilgrims boarded the Mayflower suffering their own tragedies of sickness and death. After 66 days at sea, they landed in what we now call America. They gathered together on a mission bringing with them the desire to advance the Christian Faith.

“Having undertaken for the Glory of God and advancement of the Christian Faith and Honour of our King and Country, a Voyage to plant the First Colony in the Northern parts of Virginia, do by these presents. solemnly and mutually in the presence of God.” – Mayflower Compact 1620.

May we never forget how blessed we are as a nation or how hard our forefather’s and those who came before us worked to make it the greatest nation in the world. A nation built on integrity, truth, liberty, and love for our fellow man. May we serve in love and pursue the path of God, living by HIS truth and sharing our own story of redemption, forgiveness, and grace from a holy and loving God.
