“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow? For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” James 4:14
I have witnessed a baby’s first cry, as well as a persons very last breath. Such things make you reexamine your life choices and how you choose to live each and every day. For it is a gift. Life is so very precious and there is no amount of anything in this world that can replace the opportunity of living it. Our society today would have you believe very differently. We murder unborn children by the millions, as if it were nothing more than a glob of tissue. An accumulation of cells that doesn’t amount to much of anything at all. I personally think people just choose not to see, but that is a story for another day.
For what is your life? How will you choose to live out your dash? Remember it is like a vapor, here one moment and gone the next. Jesus said, “Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.”
Matthew 10:39
We are given a clean slate, otherwise known as (GRACE) every single day. The very definition of Grace is getting what you don’t deserve. Do I deserve God’s Air? I do not, but He provides it every morning free of charge giving me another day to breathe his air, walk his earth and choose what I will do with my gift. A fresh start to do better, to choose better. How do you choose to treat God’s gift? My pastor would say (1). Love God with EVERYTHING you have. (Mark 12:30-“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.” (2) Love Other People. (Matthew 22:39)-“And the second is like it: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Last but not least. (3) Improve yourself. (Ephesians 5:15-16 –“Be very careful, then, how you live not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”

I don’t know about you but I ALWAYS have room for improvement. I take care of the sick for a living, and it can wear on you at times. I get it, not all people are that loveable and/or appreciative of the things you do for them, but that’s not what Jesus instructed. He didn’t say to only love those that are easy to love or help those that are most appreciative. He said LOVE ALL PEOPLE FOR THEY ARE YOUR NEIGHBORS. Just think? What if Jesus had said,” okay I will only come die for those who appreciate it?”. EXACTLY..
I look back over the years that have past and like anyone else wish I could undo a thing or two at times, but then I think of the person I have become and without those truly impactful moments that although painful, each one is responsible in molding me into the indiviual I am today and I am better because of those moments. I choose to see them for what they are, God working it all out for my good. (Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose”.

For what is your life friend? What would you like to be known for? Time will go on even after I have breathed my last. I want my mark to not be for my own self gain, but for the gain of those I leave behind. I want to leave a legacy for Christ and Him alone, because He deserves my gratitude. He deserves my All. May we never take one single day for granted. May we look for the opportunities God places around each of us every single day and never hesitate to respond to His call for it may be the last opportunity for someone else. Life may seem short, but eternity is forever.
My salvation wasn’t free. It was bought at a very costly price. Paid in full by my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. May we never forget the debt paid for our opportunity of salvation. It is a priceless gift.

Just as my salvation wasn’t free. Freedom comes at a costly price as well. My prayers go out to the soldier standing watch as I lie under the blanket of freedom he stands to provide for not only me but the unappreciative as well. For the families whose loved one never made it home. Thank you all for your dedicated service to our country. I am abundantly blessed to not only be a daughter of the King of Kings, but to be able to call myself an american citizen. I love my country and have the utmost respect for those who willingly choose to serve. May you have a blessed and safe memorial day weekend, and may you choose the opportunities before you each day to serve God and your fellow citizens. God Bless America!

Great piece. Thank you
