“Where there is no vision, the people perish; but he that keepeth the law, happy is he”.  Proverbs 29:18

What is your vision for this year?  God instructs his people to be a people of vision, but not just any vision “His Vision”.  We must get our hearts intune with Him in order to be on the path of purpose He has set before us.  In order to get our hearts intune there are a few things we need to make happen in our everyday lives.  We need to make it a habit, yes I said habit for lack of a better word, but it’s true, we need to purposely take time out of our day everyday a big block of time I might add and spend it with God in prayer and in His word.

Let’s start with the word vision.  Vision defined by Websters: “the ability to see: sight or eyesight. : something that you imagine : a picture that you see in your mind. : something that you see or dream”.   Vision is what we see, but it’s important also as to how we see it or interpret it.  As we read God’s word the Holy Spirit directs the way in which we interpret and see the scripture and how we should apply it to our life or present situation.

Therefore, the more time we spend with God in prayer and bible study, learning His word of Truth, the clearer our vision becomes as to what God is all about and what He wants for His children.  Above anything else He wants a relationship with you, and He wants His children to be joyous and prosper.  He has given us more Hope and Promises than we can count.  To know Him and his word is to instill us with that Hope and refresh our hearts with the promises His word contains for us.

Once we recognize our Vision, we realize that our vision is our truth.  This gives us direction in how to follow God’s will in our lives by living out our best lives for Him.  Therefore, the things we believe to be true in our hearts determine the way in which we interpret life, and this becomes our “core values”.  I believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that he was born of a virgin, died on the cross for my sin fulfilling the Old Testament prophecy and became the ultimate perfect sacrifice for all mankind bridging the gap between God and man for everyone to come to Him.

Your truth and what you believe determines your character and who you are.  It’s important for us to know who we are in Christ.  We are a new creation, set apart, His Holy People called to live Holy Lives and shine our lights so bright that others may come to Him.  This my friend is a living faith.  I fail often, but God picks me right back up.  I will never be perfect on this side of glory but thank you God for your grace and mercy that is found new each and every day to start again.

As God’s people we need to have a vision.  We need to strengthen our families with core values of truth that we believe in our heart of hearts.  Our children grow up, leave the nest that has securely been wrapped around them for years and they need good strong core values so that this world doesn’t win when they attempt to attack and crush our children’s belief system.

I challenge you today to write down your truth and challenge yourself to live it out in front of your family, co-workers, church family….  Your purpose is to be more like Jesus every single day.  Only you can make a mark on those you come into contact with.

Remember to love God with everything you got, Value other people, and Improve yourself.   God’s desire is for His children to have Peace, Love, and Joy.  Listening to His desires for our life and living out His truth is the first step. Now get in those war rooms and equip those hearts with the Truth: )
