Therefore, if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord of one mind. Philippians 2:1-2.
On more than one occasion you could find me and my cousins fishing out by the pond or one of my personal favorites skipping rocks. Of course, it had to be a competition, but we came by it honest, no doubt a family trait.

In retrospect growing up an only child would have been extremely lonely but having so many cousins made up for that. Though grown up and spread-out all-over God’s creation there are those rare occasions when we have a moment to see each other and catch up, as if time stands still for just a moment, and we take advantage of the blessing to see each other once again.
Although we keep up with each other on social media, it means so much more to have a big ole hug or just see their smiling face in person and I thank God for those rare but precious opportunities. I mean sure we text across the miles an I love you or praying for you, I’m here let me know if you need anything; but wouldn’t you agree that opening your door to a smiling face and receiving a warm embrace from someone close to your heart is much more encouraging.

Jesus encouraged us as well, teaching us that actions speak louder. You can encourage with words all day long, but your impact will be greater with showing others the way by helping them through the day to day and encouraging them with the good news of Jesus who came to seek and to save. Most of the time just listening is all someone needs to feel validated/cared for. An excellent opportunity for planting a seed or two.
As Christians, we are called to that same mission by sharing the love of Christ with those around us. Called to make an impact just as Jesus did. He acknowledged their pain and suffering giving them a reason to hope by showing them how loved they were. They could tell he cared because He showed it in so many ways.
I remember being mesmerized as a child by the rings created at the moment of impact when the rock hit the surface of the water. It starts with one action to create a reaction. People cannot respond to something they don’t understand. That one seed will be multiplied by the hand of our creator in more ways than you will ever realize in this lifetime.

I know you are weary friend; I have my days as well. Jesus will provide, we just need to take time to recharge and rest in Him. The hourglass of time will eventually run out. We need to make an impact now. Taking advantage of every opportunity. It only takes a spark to get a fire going. I implore you to keep pressing forward looking to the hills for God will provide your strength. He left you the love letter of a lifetime. So much more than words.
