“Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:31).
Even in the darkest of hours when our faith seems to waiver, we must trust in Him. Repenting of our doubt, He is ready to forgive and encourages us to be still and trust. We seek comfort and feel that it can’t be found, but God is faithful and never leaves our side. It is us who have moved, not God. I once thought that when God inquired if Satan had considered his servant Job, He was acting as if Job were a pawn to be tested and proven. (Job 1:8) God was simply boasting about the child He loved dearly and knew Job personally. He never questioned Job’s integrity because He knew Job just as Job knew Him.
Not once did Job sin against God in all his sufferings. He simply had faith. Job knew God had a plan, he understood that God the father was in control, even when everything else was in chaos. He was in such pain, he longed for the day of his birth to be erased and yet he held on. (Job 3:1-2)
Just as Job, we will have trials and tribulation. (Romans 8:18) We will continue to struggle against the flesh, but God has provided us with hope for our journey and we must cling to His truth and our integrity. (2Peter 1:3-9). It is imperative that you know what you believe and why you believe it. Herein lies your strength as a child of God. To become familiar with the character of God is to strengthen your faith and your integrity. It is in His strength that we accomplish every task that He sets before us. (Philippians 4:13).
Look to God and take your eyes off the current storm. Focus on the one with whom your hope lies. Hold on and encourage your brothers and sisters in Christ to do the same. Live out your journey of purpose to the fullest and enter into God’s kingdom with your arms full and your integrity intact.
